Sheffield Legal Walk Thursday 13th June 2024

We are pleased to announce that it’s time to dust off your trainers and walking boots again for this year’s Sheffield 10K Legal Walk, taking place on Thursday 13th June 2024 to fundraise for the Access to Justice Foundation.

 

The Access to Justice Foundation raises funds to support agencies who provide free legal advice to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable people in our society, enabling them to understand their legal rights and giving them the ability to regain control of their lives. As you will be aware, the last few years have seen a huge reduction in government and local authority funding of legal advice.

 

The Access to Justice Foundation have recently launched an “Improving Lives Through Advice” grant programme which will provide 5-year core funding to 42 frontline legal advice charities based across England. Our local Derbyshire Law Centre and Sheffield Citizens Advice & Law Centre are two of those charities.

 

The walk will be taking place on Thursday 13th June 2024, starting at Sheffield Combined Court Centre. Please arrive between 5pm and 5:15pm to be registered and take a group photo, with the walk starting promptly at 5.30pm. Please do not commence walking until the organisers indicate to do so! The walk will lead us through the city centre down to Endcliffe Park and will finish at The Forum Kitchen + Bar on Devonshire Street for a well-deserved, complimentary glass of Prosecco, kindly sponsored by Taylor Emmet Solicitors. Forum have also kindly agreed to 20% off food and drink for the evening.
