This is a fantastic opportunity to spark engagement with pro bono work across South Yorkshire, and to highlight the dedication and generosity of legal professionals giving back to their communities. We encourage you to share this invitation with anyone who may benefit from attending—whether they’re curious about getting involved or simply keen to hear inspiring stories.

SDLS Pro Bono Week Event:

• 5.30 p.m. Introductions

• 5.35 p.m. – First speaker – Nicoletta, Advocate

• 5.45 p.m.- Second speaker slot – Sinead Rollinson-Hayes & Caitlin Diamond – discussing a pro bono inquest

• 5.50 p.m. – Third speaker slot – Rebecca Blake, University of Law – discussing some of the pro bono clinics they run

• 5.55 p.m. Breakout Rooms – attendees to be split into rooms to discuss pro bono ideas, pro bono pledges and collaborate

• 6.10 p.m. – Fourth speaker slot – His Honour Judge Afzal & District Judge Blackmore – viewpoint from the judiciary, Pro Bono Recognition List and Pro Bono Liaison Judge Role

• 6.25 p.m. – A group photo with the ‘I Do Pro Bono’ photo in the background for social media/sharing with SDLS website

• Announcement of new co-chairs for the SDLS Pro Bono Committee

• 6.30 p.m. Event finishes

Attendees will also be invited to reflect on how they can use their legal skills to support their community and consider making a ‘ ’ for the year ahead.
