{"id":547,"date":"2026-06-11T09:55:55","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T08:55:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sheffieldlawsociety.co.uk\/?p=547"},"modified":"2026-06-11T09:55:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T08:55:56","slug":"partner-promotion-for-driving-force-in-hall-brown-sheffield-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sheffieldlawsociety.co.uk\/index.php\/2026\/06\/11\/partner-promotion-for-driving-force-in-hall-brown-sheffield-success\/","title":{"rendered":"PARTNER PROMOTION FOR \u2018DRIVING FORCE\u2019 IN HALL BROWN SHEFFIELD SUCCESS"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hall Brown Family Law has announced that one of the individuals behind the success of its in South Yorkshire has been promoted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alison Fernandes, head of the firm\u2019s Sheffield office, described how Melanie Hadwin\u2019s becoming a Partner was \u201cextremely well deserved\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alison said that since moving to Hall Brown three years ago, Mel had delivered \u201cexcellent\u201d results for clients and been a \u201cdriving force\u201d in helping develop the careers of colleagues at all levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alison added that Mel \u2013 hailed by one of the UK\u2019s leading legal industry rankings as a \u201cstandout\u201d lawyer \u2013 had been integral to Hall Brown\u2019s establishing itself as one of South Yorkshire\u2019s leading family law practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The firm took the Family Law title at last year\u2019s Yorkshire Legal Awards, singled out by judges for its dedication to clients, innovative services and positive impact on the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alison explained: \u201cMel has been an incredibly important figure in that success, recognised by her legal industry peers and clients alike, both for her skill and being the kind of highly experienced, focused lawyer you want on your side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe same formidable capabilities which have seen her reputation grow so substantially have contributed to a rise in her caseload and that of the entire Sheffield office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe felt that the time was right to recognise Melanie\u2019s role in what we do by making her Partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMore than managing her own increasing volume of work, she also plays a substantial part in helping develop her junior colleagues \u2013 something which we believe is integral to our approach, not just in South Yorkshire but all of our offices nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMel has already helped deliver first-rate results for us and for her many clients, and we are looking forward to her helping to shape our future too.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sheffield born and bred, Mel spent almost 20 years building her practice with two firms based in the city prior to joining Hall Brown in January 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Having established premises in Sheffield in April 2020, Hall Brown has made an enormous local impact, being the only family law practice in the South Yorkshire region to be ranked in the top tier in two of the country\u2019s leading legal rankings, Legal 500 and Chambers and Partners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Alison Fernandes was included in both directories as a Leading Partner, while consultants Martin Loxley and Zoe Round featured in Legal 500\u2019s Hall of Fame. Zoe was also named as one of Chambers and Partners\u2019 Senior Statespeople.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mel Hadwin, meanwhile, was heralded as one of Legal 500 \u2018s Leading Associates with the publication adding that \u201cher clients are extremely lucky. She gives counsel constructive ideas\u2026and adds enormous value.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Her elevation to Partner concludes Hall Brown\u2019s annual round of promotions, which this year has underlined its emphasis on developing young legal talent as a key ingredient for success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It saw six staff rewarded for their contribution to growth across its offices in Manchester, Leeds, London, Sheffield and Birmingham, and Hall Brown\u2019s newest premises, which were opened in Liverpool in January. They included Sheffield-based Ella Ashforth, who was promoted to Associate Solicitor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Earlier this year, Hall Brown also completed yet another clean sweep in the most prestigious domestic and international tables, adding top billing in Doyle\u2019s Guide to prominent shows in Legal 500, Chambers and Partners, eprivateclient and the Times\u2019 own rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The firm was also one of only 11 legal firms nationwide to feature in the Sunday Times\u2019s list of the UK\u2019s Best Places to Work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Judges described how the firm\u2019s continued growth since opening its doors in 2016 was due to \u201cthe culture and wellbeing of the team\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hall Brown Family Law has announced that one of the individuals behind the success of its in South Yorkshire has been promoted.
