The course begins by looking at the legislative background to disclosure -the CPIA, the Code of Practice and the Criminal Procedure Rules. Non-statutory -but important materials- including the AG’s Guidelines on Disclosure 2013 and the Magistrates’ Courts Disclosure Review 2014 are examined so that delegates know where to find the law and supporting materials quickly. Thereafter, common dilemmas are solved using case law, the CPR and tactics. Pitfalls and urban myths are highlighted so they can be avoided.
