Passport To Export For Legal Services
International Training Workshop
14th May 2008
Waterton Park Hotel, Walton, Wakefield
Global business activity inevitably involves legal activity. As much of this global activity is becoming more complex with a growth in outward and inward investment, international mergers and acquisitions and more and more issues about protection of intellectual property, so the amount of legal work is expanding.
We have developed a programme specifically to help firms in the legal sector develop their international business. This comprises five key elements:
• A review of where you are now and where you want to get to
• A training and development workshop
• Creation of a strategic plan to develop international business
• One to one mentoring with a specialist adviser
• Funding to help implement your strategy
UK Trade & Investment is the Government organisation that helps UK based companies succeed in international markets and assists overseas companies to bring high quality investment to the UK’s vibrant economy. We have been working at a national level for many years with the Law Society and the Lord Mayor of the City of London to raise the profile of the UK as a global financial and legal services centre. We see many opportunities to work at a regional level with regional legal businesses as well.
The outline structure of the training and development programme is shown overleaf and has been produced in conjunction with the Regional Office of the Law Society in Yorkshire and is fully accredited for 6 CPD hours.
