ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION
29 February 2008
Our own committee is testimony to the range of talent and diversity that Sheffield’s law firms have to offer, and we want to recognise that the modern law firm relies upon the talents of Legal Executives, Trainees, Paralegals and even law students in building successful partnerships across the area.
We are considering amendments to the original 1875 constitution to:
- allow non-solicitors to join the local Law Society, and to actively participate on the committee, and
- allow committee members to stand for re-election after 3 years service;
As part of a consultation process on these changes, we are inviting committee members to review the proposed amended constitution on the committee members section of the web site. The draft can be found in the committee section under 'agenda'.
Any comments or suggestions should be e-mailed to Katherine Powell on katherine@sheffieldlawsociety.co.uk by 11 March 2008.
Further information on any proposed changes will be provided for consideration by all members in advance of a general meeting of which each member will receive due notice.
