MEMBERSHIP
SHEFFIELD & DISTRICT LAW SOCIETY
The Sheffield & District Law Society provides a wide range of services to solicitors in Sheffield, Rotherham and the surrounding area. In doing so it actively seeks to promote and enhance the interests and profile of the local profession.
Who is eligible to join?
Membership of the Sheffield & District Law Society is offered to Solicitors, Legal Executives, Paralegals, Barristers, Judges, Magistrates, and other professionals with approval of the committee. Membership of the Society is divided into the following categories:

Individual Membership
Student Membership
Barrister Membership
Corporate Membership
Corporate Membership is where the firm pays a subscription based on the number of solicitors in that firm.
Legal Executives and Paralegals are included free under Corporate Membership. Please note their membership is of associated status under the Society’s Articles of Association.

Individual Membership
Individual membership is where each individual solicitor in a firm is responsible for their own subscription. Legal Executives and Paralegals can also pay to be an individual member. Individual members get the same benefits as corporate members but only the individual members from each firm will be entitled to receive the benefits.

Student Membership
Student Membership is open to those who are currently training as solicitors or studying on an Committee-approved relevant course at the University of Sheffield or Sheffield Hallam University.
Student membership is charged at £10.00 per student.
Barrister Membership
Barristers are able to become either individual members of the Society or if their Chambers can become corporate members.

Corporate Members
• An opportunity to attend meetings of the Managing Partners\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' Forum with other local commercial firms and national Law Society representatives.
